- Magnetic Grates are simple and economical magnetic separators that are suitable for
installation in hoppers, chutes, bins or housings.
- Magnetic Grates can remove unwanted ferrous material from dry particle products,
liquids or slurries.
- Install or just lay in place for easy access and cleaning.
- Magnetic Grates consist of a number of Magnetic Tubes mounted at the correct
spacing within a stainless steel frame.
- High powered magnets are fully encapsulated within stainless steel tubing
to create a strong magnetic field along each tube.
- Alpha Magnetics provides a variety of different Magnetic Grate styles and strengths designed to suit
different applications or budgets.
- Some models are in stock for immediate delivery while others are custom
made to order.
Standard Grates
- For standard applications the tubes are 25mm or 25.4mm (1") diameter.
- Made with either powerful Rare Earth (Neodymium) magnets or economical
Ferrite Ceramic magnets.
1) 10,000 Gauss Rare Earth - Fully Welded Construction

- Designed to suit the requirements of the Food industry.
- Very high magnetic strength grates with a Fully Welded construction so
there are no gaps to trap food between the tubes and frame.
- Round: 200mm and 300mm diameter in stock.
- Square: 200mm and 300mm square in stock.
- Other sizes are available on special order.
2) 10,000 Gauss or 6,000 Gauss Rare Earth

- Our standard rare earth grate, custom made in Melbourne in round, square or rectangular
to your size requirements.
- Available in very high strength 10,000 Gauss, or more economical 6,000
Gauss (peak surface readings at magnetic poles).
- Various construction styles available.
3) Ferrite Ceramic

- Ceramic grates are the most cost-effective solution for those on a budget.
- Custom made in round, square or rectangular to your requirements.
- Good for larger tramp but not appropriate for removing fine ferrous contaminants.
Heavy Duty Grates
- For heavy duty applications and/or large or abrasive product, we use heavy duty
tubes that are 38.1mm (1.5") square.
- These tubes are mounted at 45 degrees to the direction of product flow and
allow a wider spacing between tubes than standard round tubes.
Grates in Housings
- Grate Magnets are also available in a range of drawer and housing
arrangements from Bunting Magnetics Co.
